J-SOX

Following corporate scandals such as the Livedoor and Murakami Fund episodes, Japanese regulators have decided to formulate what has been dubbed as the Japanese version of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; the Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Law (J-SOX for short).

J-SOX Implementation Guidance provided by The Internal Control Committee of the Business Accounting Council of the Japanese Financial Services Agency details to Japanese companies on how to implement a Management Assessment of Internal Control over Financial Reporting as required under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law as of February 2007.

In summary J-SOX compliance requirements are quite similar to Sarbanes-Oxley Act Sections 302 relating to management certification and 404 referring to management evaluation and report on internal controls. IAP's in depth knowledge of existing and emerging standards can help any organisations with compliance requirements, we are here to help.
